Depending on specific circumstances, each course can be adapted to different lesson types: individual or group, intensive or extensive, standard or customized.
The most popular course (and most customized) is General Russian. Customization primarily involves adjusting course duration because the number of hours for the standard course has been designed for group tuition of 10-12 learners. Very often, in the context of private lessons, the course content can be studied in a shorter period.
In addition to the General Russian course, I offer numerous specialized courses, the content of which is determined according to the learner’s sphere of activity or interests. Even at Elementary level, lexical and grammatical elements characteristic of a specific field can be introduced. However, these specialized elements do not replace the content of the General Russian course but are additional to it, making it possible to apply the same final assessment system at the end of the tuition period.
Similarly, in some cases the course can be structured in such a way as to focus on the specific skills to be acquired: for example, grammar, oral or written comprehension (listening or reading), oral or written expression (speaking or writing) or pronunciation.
Teaching can be provided in two ways: either using an intermediary language (French or English), or without an intermediary language (lessons delivered solely in Russian). As far as possible, the impact of the learner’s mother tongue on learning Russian (linguistic interference) can also be taken into account.
The duration of each lesson is negotiated before tuition starts and can vary from 1 hour (minimum) to 2 hours.
In this way, when planning a course, the level and content of the course itself, as well as the specific wishes of the client in terms of the development of specific skills, are determined first. Next, the duration of the course is established, according to the intensity and frequency of the lessons, the number of participants (individual or group lesson), the use of an intermediary language (French or English) and even on how much time the learner has to spend on homework.
One of the key advantages of learning with me is that anyone can start at any time. All the same, I advise you to contact me at least two weeks before the desired start date to check our mutual availability and block the date and time slot of the first lesson, settle any administrative questions and allow me to prepare your course as well as possible.
I try to give everyone the same opportunities to access my courses. I make every possible effort to integrate people with disabilities into my courses by adapting my teaching methods in accordance with the French Law of 11 February 2005 for equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship for people with disabilities.
